National Sexual Assault Surveillance Systems Survey (formerly State Sexual Assault Surveillance Systems): For this report each state was contacted to determine who monitors sexual assault surveillance at the state level as well as the frequency of reporting and the type of data items collected. The results of the survey are presented in tables followed by a discussion.

 

Intimate Partner Violence and Age of Victim, 1993-99: This paper includes 1999 rates of intimate partner violence against females including rates for specific violent crimes (rape/sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault and simple assault), and 1993-1999 trends in both fatal and nonfatal intimate partner violence. These statistics focus on differences by victim age and race. Statistics on domestic violence include the percentage of same-sex intimate partner violence, presence of weapons, injuries to victims, type of intimates who offend, and reporting to police. The data for this report are drawn from both the NCVS and the FBI's Supplementary Homicide Reports.
